Jobless man beats up 61-year-old mother, sister with broom, metal pipe, antenna

By: Ferdie De La Torre
John Frank Teregeyo Kileleman, a 35-year-old man had been arrested after allegedly beating up his mother and sister. His arrest took place around 12:36 AM. The reason towards his tantrum and actions is all because of his sister turning of his radio that had projected his loud music.

According to the article, the incident took place at As Perdido on a Wednesday night. The mother and her 32-year-old daughter were getting ready to sleep; the 61-year-old directed her daughter to double check and secure the doors and gates. The daughter obliged and later heard the boisterous music coming out the garage. As soon as she turned the radio off, her brother stormed in and started arguing with her.

While Kileleman confronted her about it, he was holding a broom stick. The sister then noticed broken dishes on the floor. She then questioned him about the broken plats, but helped clean up some of the mess. When the 32-year-old said felt she was done with her task, she told her brother to finish the rest. Kileleman threatened to beat her up.

Kileleman then started beating her up with the broom he was holding. He struck her on the head several times, causing the broom to break in half. Although there was blood dripping down her face, he picked up the halves of the broom and striking her apathetically. She begged for her brother to stopped and attempted to cover her head, but her brother punched her in the mouth.

The mother got out of the bed and attended to the commotion. As she entered the living room, she witnessed the fight between the two. The 61-year-old tried to stopped her son from committing more damage, but he grabbed an object and threw it towards her head, causing her to fall on the floor unconsciously. “Kileleman picked up a silver metal pipe and used it to strike her head and back.”

The bloody sister did her best to drag their mother to her side, but Kileleman still kept delivering more damage. Eventually their neighbors heard her plea for help and called the authorities-- causing Kileleman to flee from the scene.

The victims were later admitted into the hospital.
“The 61-year-old mother was admitted for further observation at the Commonwealth Healthcare Center after she sustained a 3-inch laceration on the left cheek and lacerations on the back of head that were stapled twice.”

Her daughter received six lacerations above the forehead and five on the head. She had a swollen left hand and numerous bruises on the arms.

The authorities continued on their search for Kileleman after the victims were aided that night; They later on found Kileleman in the boonies, 200 feet south from their home.

His initial charges are: “ charge of senior citizen physical abuse, aggravated assault and battery, assault with a dangerous weapon, assault and battery, criminal mischief, and disturbing the peace.”

The Superior Court had arranged a $50,000 bail. His preliminary hearing is set on September 14 at 9 AM. “Acting chief prosecutor Barbara Cepeda appeared for the government.”

So my English class, we read an excerpt from John Milton’s work called Paradise Lost: Fall of Satan (Book I). Within this collection, it consisted of 12 books overall. John Milton purpose in the first book focuses on the consequences that occurs when God’s orders are justified, and the origin of how Satan had come about. Throughout the story, Milton portrays a divine-like tone and attitude—as if God himself or some other supreme spirit is speaking, thus concluding the sentence structures and other literary focuses to be challenging.

Despite the challenges, this story was very absorbing to go over; I found out things that I never knew were there. An example would be in Satan’s right hand man, Beelzebub. I knew that when Satan wasn’t alone when he was sent down to Hell, though I never knew that the second best or the next in line after Satan is Beelzebub. In all honesty, I never knew that he exists. Another example was the “nine days and nights fall to Hell”; After Satan defying God, He [God] has thrown him and his renegades out of Heaven with one great thrust. The fall down to hell took nine days AND nights. It amazes me that it took that long.

I later went online to learn more about Satan and Beelzebub’s relationship and Beelzebub’s origin, and the facts leaves me in awe. It turns out that Beelzebub is known as one of the Seven Princes of Hell. Each prince represents the Seven Deadly Sins, and he is known for gluttony. Satan represents wrath, though it confuses me knowing that Lucifer represents pride when in this excerpt, Satan was the represented both. I then realize that in the beginning he was recognized as Lucifer; once expelled from entering the gates of Heaven, he was then known as Satan. Also what I found out that Lucifer means “Light bringer”, and Satan means “Enemy.”

So I thought to myself, “Since there are Seven Princes of Hell, would there be Seven Princes of Heaven?” Yes! According to the internet, they’re known as the Seven Archangels. An archangel is also known as the high ranking angel in Heaven. Each angel represent the seven days in a week.
The introduction spoke about Man’s First Disobedience, or the original sin. As you know, Satan was the mastermind behind of it all. Though, I’ve always wondered why. Why has he done it? Why go against God when you knew you couldn’t stand a chance with him? Why trade happiness and paradise for the complete opposite? John Milton’s purpose also was to make people think otherwise of Satan. John Milton portrays Satan as the hero in this story, defying God, accepting his new faith in his new sanctuary, and not giving up on trying bringing down God. All these characteristics can be found in a hero.

John Milton’s Paradise Lost: Fall of Satan was overall my favorite excerpt to go over in class because it questions the most highly-respected book of all time—the Holy Bible. I do sometimes question myself when I read the bible. I do believe in God and his kingdom, but having a different perspective on the characters within the holy books, most especially the infamous ones, catches my attention.
